The Special Collections unit of Carrier Library maintains a collection of University historical materials that includes approximately 1,700 photos dating from 1909. Digitizing and mounting a selection of them in an online exhibit was undertaken to make the history of the University accessible to a wider community. The project involved the collaborative efforts of Special Collections Librarian Chris Bolgiano, student assistant Lindsay Mannell, Library Web Coordinator Clint Sellers, and Craig Baugher and David Kuykendall of the University's Center for Instructional Technology. Technology was used to repair and/or enhance the visual display of some pictures, particularly older photos. Captions were written on the basis of available information, but few photos have been fully identified. It is hoped that viewers may be able to add some of the dates, names, and events.
