Library hours & services during winter break & winter session

JMU Libraries' hours for winter break and winter session take effect on Saturday, December 14. Hours will be limited in all library locations until spring semester hours begin on January 13. Check the Libraries’ hours online before planning a visit to a JMU library location during winter break or winter session.

Library resources and services during winter break:

Online resources, such as e-journals, e-books, streaming videos, and databases, are available as usual, even during winter break library closures.

Interlibrary Loan (ILL) and Article Document Delivery services are limited during winter break. You may continue to submit ILL requests during the break, but requests submitted starting mid-December may not be processed until January 2. Please reference the ILL winter break schedule if you are planning to submit ILL or document delivery requests during winter break.

If you will be traveling in Virginia during the break and would like to check out books from other universities' libraries, the Cooperative Borrowing Program may be of interest. Through this program, you may be able to borrow materials from some academic libraries in Virginia with your JMU access card. View the list of libraries participating in this program.

Canvas support for faculty is available on a very limited basis during winter break. The support hours offered by the Libraries’ Learning Technology Services are listed on the Libraries' hours page. Canvas self-service resources are always available on the Libraries’ tech support page.
