Get hands-on with Technology by competing in Maker Sprints!

JMU LIBRARIES ARE HOSTING A SERIES OF MAKER SPRINTS this year, culminating in a Hackathon at the end of each semester.
Everyone in the JMU community is welcome to participate. The first Sprint will be at the Carrier Makery, and is coming up at 6 p.m. on September 21st!
At the beginning of each Sprint, which will last about three hours, we'll announce a challenge or problem to solve. You can then team up with a few of your fellow students to envision and create your solution. We'll provide equipment, supplies, and advice. At the end of the sprint you'll present your project to a group of judges made up of JMU Innovation Fellows, who will select winners and present prizes based on creative use of materials, teamwork, presentation, and, of course, how well you solved the problem!
Pre-register by September 15th and you’ll get a t-shirt and will be able to use a 3D printer during the Sprint. Register with your team, or register as an individual, and we’ll help you find some teammates.
The Maker Sprints are a great way to get hands-on experience with a variety of technologies, to learn more about the many resources available to makers on campus, and to meet fellow makers and would-be makers.
