JMU Supports the Library Bill of Rights

In a new initiative to showcase that all libraries have a responsibility to serve as a forum for information and ideas, Libraries & Educational Technologies (LET) at James Madison University has installed the American Library Association’s “Library Bill of Rights” posters in our four locations.

The posters are a reminder that JMU's libraries are here to serve the community. LET at James Madison University opposes censorship and discrimination. We strive to provide an environment of free expression and free access to any and all ideas.

We support the idea that books and other resources should be provided for the interest, information, and enlightenment of the community we serve, and that they should present multiple points of view on current and historical issues.

In promoting the Library Bill of Rights, we are informing our community that we strive to uphold the Library Bill of Rights' principles of intellectual freedom.
