The Changing Image of Nurses

From Florence Nightingale to Nurse Jackie, the practices and images of nurses have changed over time. New book displays in Rose and Carrier highlight resources on the history of nursing and representations of nurses from the JMU collections. In addition to the book displays, you will see historic representations of nurses in the National Library of Medicine’s Zwerdling Postcard Collection, as represented through the traveling exhibit Pictures of Nursing.
